I'm a fairly mediocre cook, nothing advanced, but I know my stuff and I can cook if I want. Though I'm by no mean an expert.

Anyway, I've bought about 1.5kg of good cow beef and I want to make some asian, spicy beef stew out of it.

Anybody got any recipes which aren't too complex to make?

If nothing Asian, anything western/eastern involving red wine would also do.

Thai dishes are generally fairly simple to make, especially if you use a jar of paste rather than making it yourself. They usually involve chopping up lots of ingredients, then sauteing them before adding sauces and simmering for some time. If you chop up all the ingredients beforehand then the actual cooking should be fairly easy.

This recipe for Red Curry Beef Stew is pretty close to one I've made before, and is simple to make, it only takes a few minutes to saute the ingredients, then a few hours on the hob.

Alternatively there's a recipe for Thai Beef Stew you may like.
